Friends of Ironmen Football (FOIF) - Board Meeting

Preseason Parent Meeting

• May 23^rd start either 6:30 or 7:15 – Varsity, 7:30 – 8:15 Freshman following Varsity
• Mike will work on the handout and send out for review by April 24^th.
• Each board member will need to be in attendance to answer questions and promote FOIF
• If you have something you need Ron to cover in his speech, send it to him in writing

FOIF Meeting with Coach Venerable

• Team is looking to have a least one fund raiser
• Team spent $1,000 for a new board for the weight room – FOIF is considering paying for part or all this expense
• Discussed bagging and that should not be a problem

Committee Reports

• Clothing – Robin VanDermay

• Orange and Black – Ron Dierkes
  • No meetings held yet – waiting on signup at parent meeting
  • Plan to be similar to last year
• Tailgating/Reserved Parking – Eric Sadlo
  • No update
  • Need volunteers
• Communications & Technology – Mike Cross
  • No meetings held yet
  • Provide updates and weekly reader once season starts
  • Looking to continue website enhancements
  • Looking at creating a more comprehensive database for storing information
  • I’ll work with Gary to ensure our fees are paid
  • Look for video tapers for Freshman and Sophomores at parent signup
• End Zone Advertising – Dave Cobb
  • On track to launch this campaign
  • Need to inform Dr. Knuckles of our final plans
• Programs – Ray Rapp
  • Talk to Heartland printing and You Name It Sports (YNIS) about program pricing
  • 500 copies - $2,275 – Heartland Printing; $1,300-1,500YYNIS
  • Ray will continue discussions with YNIS to drive out details
  • YNIS is willing to work with us on other fund raising options
  • YNIS needs 30 days setup for the program (~July 25)
  • Need to promote heavily advertising via website and parent meetings
  • Parent meeting – need pricing for parent and business and mock-up if possible
• Concessions – Linda Price
  • Looking for volunteers for Varsity (if we have one), Sophomore and Freshman meal coordinators

  • Thursday Varsity Meals
    • Diane has done a lot of research on this topic.  Mike will send out an email with more detail to the board
• End of Season Banquets – Amy Durbin
  • Looking for volunteers for Varsity, Sophomore and Freshman
  • Tentative Dates – Freshman – 10/27/05; Sophomore – 11/03/05
  • Need to reserve the cafeteria
