Friends of Ironmen Football (FOIF) - General Meeting

Introductions were made.  Many new attendees

 Committee Reports:

• Treasurer
  • Balance of $4,654.92 in the account
  • Debt for sprinklers has been retired
  • Krispy Kreme cards are still available for sale – reduced price of $7.50
  • Reimbursed coach Venerable for awards board and water park
• Communications
  • Updating website as needed
  • Will continue to take parent information
• Clothing
  • Preorders from parent meeting we’re passed out
  • Pom-poms will be sold at the scrimmage
  • Additional clothing will be available at the Orange/Black Game
  • Equipment bags have been ordered and we’re delivered to the school – they will be passed out once we get them
• Concession
  • Starting to contact volunteers
  • We have the concession stand for the West game on Sept 23^rd
  • Need varsity parents to help on August 27^th game (Sat – morning)
• End zone ads
  • Final approval received
  • Selling ads right now
  • Will need volunteers to help put up and take down banners at home games
  • If you have businesses that would be willing to buy a banner, contact Dave Cobb for additional information click here
• Program
  • Small window for ads, approximately 1-2 weeks before final deadline (08/19 – Orange & Black Game)
  • Like to get more business ads
  • Next meeting with the printer is Wednesday, 8/10

• Misc Fund Raising

  • Sept 24, 2005 – Cubs grocery bagging (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • 50/50 drawing at home games
• Orange/Black Game
  • August 19^th @ 5:30 (Freshman), 6:30 (Sophomore), 7:30 (Varsity)
  • Pot luck - For additional information click here
  • Hot dogs, brauts & water will be available for a small donation
  • Volunteers are needed to help with food (30 minute shifts)
  • Thinking about having name tags for the parents
• Reserved Parking Passed & Tailgating
  • Mike Steach is coordinating the reserved parking passes
  • Northwest parking lot in front of the tennis courts will be blocked off
  • $20 for a season a pass/ $5 for a single game
  • Will be sold at the Orange/Black game (need volunteers to help sell )
  • Need volunteers to help man the gate before home games
  • Working on theme nights for a couple of home game
  • Thinking about having name tags for tailgating
• Team Food
  • Planning to provide food to players & coaches food from LaGondola for out of town games
  • Asking each player to pay $5 per road game to help cover food expense – flyers will be passed out at practice (Thursday, 08/11) and will be due at the Orange/Black Game (08/19)
  • Every Thursday night the Varsity will be having a team meal – LaGondola will be providing the food
  • Need volunteers to help pick up food and pass out food
  • Need volunteers to bring dessert on a given night
• Yard Signs
  • Will be passed out for Varsity and Sophomore
  • Idea is that the signs are returned at the end of the season for use next year

 New Business

• Football Package Deal -  Kate Rodriguez will head
• Discussed creating a package deal for Season game tickets, parking pass, clothes, etc. – Need to decide what to do and amount to charge
• Need to set up a table at registration so that parents can purchase the season ticket at registration
