Committee Reports:
- Treasurer
- Balance of $3,405.74 in our account
- Made $213 on the 50/50 Need at lease 6
volunteers to help sell at the West game
- Communications
- Website up and running updated weekly
- Clothing
- Have sold at one Sophomore & Freshman game
- Homecoming T-shirts will be available at the
September 23rd game (West)
- Idea was suggested to provide each player with a
homecoming t-shirt free approximate cost would be $600
Motion made by Diane Nagy, seconded by Janie Zalisiak approved by FOIF
members present
- Concession
- Held concessions at both home Freshman games and
the one Sophomore game took in $1,241 (approx $600 in profit) for the
3 games
- FOIF will sponsor the concession for the Varsity
West Game still need volunteers to help with this game (post a note on
the home page of the website and send an email to the masses asking for
volunteers deadline, Monday 09/19 )(grill cooks, roasters, etc.)
- Coke will supply a Coke trailer for the West game
free of charge
- Plan to set up a pop stand and cold items on the
visitor side
- Fields
- Ron met with Coach Turner to discuss proper
watering of the fields
- Problem is that there is only one water pump for
all field watering needs (football, baseball, softball, soccer, etc).
There may a need to install an additional pump to help with watering
needs.
- Motion was made (Eric Sadlo) to spend no more than
$2,000 on adding an additional pump to the system for the football
fields; seconded by Kate Rodriguez, with the condition that the field
committee can determine that the problem is resolved with the addition
of another pump
- Ron would like some help from other parents to
attend future field maintenance committee meeting
- End zone ads
- Program
- Order 200 sold 150 for the first home game
- Will try to sell the remaining 50 at Sophomore &
Varsity
- You Name It Sports will switch out the covers for
each home game
- Looking at having a cover that splits half the
cover with Normal & West
- Need volunteers to help sell
- Misc Fund Raising
- Monicals Pizza Night Wednesday, October 19,
2005 (flyer posted on the website)
- Sept 24, 2005 Cubs grocery bagging (10:00 AM
6:00 PM)
- 50/50 drawing at home games
- Reserved Parking Passed & Tailgating
- Need volunteers to help with manning the gate (30
minute shifts)
- Orange & Black Scrimmage
- Broke even on costs
- Extra food was donated to Home Sweet Home Mission
- Team Food
- Still accepting sponsorships for Thursday night
varsity dinners
- Looking at trying to have a Friday night dinner
after the Danville game (9:00 11:30), October 14th (Longhorn
Smokehouse will sponsor); Janie will check to see if the Senior
cafeteria is available; Diane will check with Longhorn to see if the
date and time will work
New Business
- Introduced Dale Smith of OEM Incorporated, would like
to help the FOIF with fund raising
- For example willing to sponsor 150-200 bottles of
Gatorade for the games
- Dale has a Sophomore son that plays for the
Ironmen
- Idea of having a DVD prepared to highlight the year
with game film and pictures
- Heard from 3 different sources that we had parents
making inappropriate comments during the game by parents addressed to
coaches and players. Asking all FOIF to help address these comments
