Friends of Ironmen Football (FOIF) - General
Meeting
October 10, 2005, 6:30 PM NCHS
Committee Reports:
Treasurer – Kate Rodriguez
Current balance is over $9000. Several
outstanding items are remaining for this season with banquet events for
each team, t-shirt expenses, and YouNameItSports for development of the
game program.
Clothing - Robin
Playoff t-shirts have been ordered and
the extra homecoming shirts will be sold at the concession stand during
the school carnival.
Communications and Technology
– Eric Sadlo reported on the need help from frosh and soph class. Dave
Oznowitz has sent the scores for previous games and will do so after the
remaining games.
Concessions –
Linda Price - report on concession from the (9/23) West game. West game
profits were approximately $3300. Report on concessions during frosh and
soph games. Need concession help with school carnival. Linda and Janie will
get items to the concession stand. Ron will ask Ms. Ball about redeeming
tickets after the carnival. We have enough volunteers to cover the event.
End Zone Advertising - Dave Cobb
No report.
Fund raising – Diane Nagy
Monical’s pizza night is scheduled for
Wednesday, October 19. Fliers will be passed out at the varsity
homecoming game on Friday evening as well as at the school carnival.
Game Program – Ray Rapp.
Game programs will now be given away so
we do not have to return money to advertisers due to a district
agreement with Royal Publishing. Playoff posters will be ordered for the
players.
50/50 - Greg Rodriguez.
All is going well – may need to make
additional calls if there is a home playoff game or two.
Tailgating/reserved parking - Eric Sadlo – Mike Steach
We need to be aware that the homecoming
carnival does not end until 5:00 and there may be parking conflicts for
this Friday night’s game.
Team food - Greg Rodriguez
Noodles has volunteered coupons for the
team for free entrees. We would like to do something for the frosh and
soph teams. Special thanks to Dale Smith for being the Gatorade sponsor
for the team. Gary will handle fruit and water for the freshmen game
this Thursday afternoon. A post game homecoming meal is also being
planned. Longhorn Smokehouse has offered to donate 50 barbecue
sandwiches, chips, and cookie for the team post game event. FOIF will
supplement those sandwiches with 30 additional sandwiches so coaches,
players, and trainers can participate. Ron Dierkes has notified Coach
Venerable of the plans, and the senior café has been reserved.
Banquet stuff
Need senior parent volunteer to organize.
This is still in the planning phase. We will communicate more as details
become evident.
Homecoming lights and decorations – Eric Sadlo
Eric is going to organize a team to put
lights up near the football facility entrance again. Work will begin
this Thursday around 4:30.
