
FOIF General Meeting Minutes
4/10/06
Committee Reports:
Treasurer: No change from last meeting other than the addition of a $1500 in State Farm Grants received in March. New balance $5000.
Concession: Iron Pride forming a concessions committee to handle assigning game day concessions. Our request for the first game will be handled appropriately.
No other reports received.
Old Business:
April workday scheduled for April 22 from 9:00 to Noon in 2 shifts. Will need at least 10 players for each shift. Snacks and drinks will be provided from a donation made by Jimmy John’s Restaurants. Eric Sadlo will get sign up sheet to Coach Venerable. Diane Nagy will pick up and deliver snacks. Location of work day at Prairie Commercial Park located on the North side of Rte 9, ½ mile East of Towanda Barnes Rd.
Coach Venerable requested the scoreboard commemoration signage should include all semi-finalist and finalist teams. The teams that made the semi-finalist games are the 1996 and 1999 teams. The teams that made the finalist (State Championship) game are the 1974 and 2005 teams.
Coach Venerable did not support putting names on jerseys.
Coach Venerable will get back to us with dates for Orientation meetings. EricSadlo will again request dates from Coach.
New Business:
A question from Iron Pride was received enquiring who should handle homecoming clothing. A motion was made and adopted to not be involved at all with homecoming clothing. Eric Sadlo will advise Iron Pride.
Eric Sadlo informed the group that Coach Venerable has offered about 8-10 reject helmets that can be used for novelty type items. Eric Sadlo will follow up with Coach.
Dave Osnowitz, on behalf of the Fund Raising Committee, presented a sample fund raising flyer detailing all the fund raising activities that businesses and individuals can participate in. Minor typographical changes will be made. Pricing for the year book advertising will be reviewed with last year’s program. Once all issues have been resolved copies of these documents will be placed on the website for everyone’s use in the pursuit of revenue for FOIF.
The following questions or suggestions were made:
Should we consider a cook out of sorts following the 7 on 7 game(s) here on July 17? Eric Sadlo will contact Coach and get his response.
It was also suggested that we look into having a more public Orange and Black Scrimmage to bring more fans out early to meet the teams. Eric Sadlo will contact Coach Venerable and get his response.
It was recommended that a monthly calendar page or pages be added to the website showing scheduled activities in a calendar format. Eric Sadlo will review with Gary Price who heads up the Information and Technology Committee.
The sale of license plate covers specifically for NCHS Football was suggested. Dale Smith has agreed to look into the cost to manufacture.
A question was asked regarding NCHS Football decals for cars. Eric Sadlo will check to see if there is any remaining.
It was suggested that we have cards available at the upcoming Orientation Meetings for parents to complete.
Outstanding Items not discussed above:
Field Stenciling – Eric Sadlo will contact AD Andy Turner to see if there is any change in the current school’s position not to have.
